Please take a few minutes today to complete an online survey about your experiences making decisions about and managing farm labor. The survey is part of a multi-state research and extension project working to help farmers address challenges small and medium scale farmers encounter finding, training and keeping workers. We want responses from diverse operations — including those who rely solely on family members for labor, to those who bring on seasonal crews, H2A workers and/or apprentices, to those who have full-time, year-round salaried employees.

Farmers will benefit! The information you share will directly shape educational programs and decision tools the research team is developing to help farmers improve farm labor decision-making and management. For most people, the survey will take between 10 and 20 minutes. Your responses will be anonymous. Questions? Please contact Project Director Mary Peabody.

This survey is based upon work supported by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, U.S. Department of Agriculture, under award number 2014-68006-21873.

You may wonder why we are asking you to complete this survey so close to the growing season. We hope to understand how farmers make labor decisions when you are in the mix of planning for them, and with the goal that future Extension resources and programs will better address those issues.

Thank you for considering our request during this very busy time of the year.
