Hello Friends of AFMA,

I'm a graduate student at the Clinton School of Public Service doing a project with Arkansas Farm to School. I'm exploring the barriers that immigrant farmers face in farm to school participation, but also in farming more generally. As a part of the research, I'm looking to interview farmers and supporting organizations. The work should inform how Arkansas Farm to School can better support these farmers across the state.

So far, I’ve been able to learn so much about the experiences of Hmong farmers through conversations with the farmers themselves, extension agents, and a few market managers. However, I've been having trouble connecting with Hispanic/Latino farmers. I’m reaching out to you to see if you work with any Hispanic/Latino, Hmong, or other “New American”/immigrant farmers through your market.

I would love to hear about your network and experiences working with these farmers in your area. If you have any insights, knowledge, or connections to share, please reach out to me or call me at 501.352.2230.

I appreciate your help, and look forward to hearing from you,

Thank you,

Nick Stevens
